Take climate action against industry

We

citizens who want to save the planet

establish that:

• mostly industry is a threat to the planet (manufacturing products, travel, recreation)
• individually you can do little by yourself: mostly burn less (driving a car, heating your home) or choose a zero-emission alternative for it (wind/solar)
• we do consume (a lof of) products, but those are made by industry
• the profits of most industry is mostly based on exploiting the planet for free or cheaply (through mining or farming)
• the destruction of the planet mostly accelerated since the industrialisation because industry seeks a large scale to manufacture and market, supported by a lot of marketing
• legislators have 'the monopoly on violence' (fines, emprisonment) and can discipline industry effectively with laws
• industry wants special treatment for a business or a branche, but does obey to general rules for everyone (a level playing field) like for example VAT.
• industry directs the behaviour of consumers to a large extent

and request

• reduce and eventually criminalise the attention economy (like advertising)
• a mandatory deposit on all products, in the EU for starters
• calculate the mining and farming into a product and tax it while reducing the income tax on physical labour.
